Devoucoux Mendia Dressage Saddle
The Mendia a semi deep seat, mono-flap dressage saddle. Prominent knee and thigh blocks along with stirrup bars positioned further back than on similar models ensures the rider’s stability in elevated paces and transitions, while the straight, single-flap design preserves close contact with the horse. This is one of the lightest dressage saddles I've ever held with soft yummy thigh blocks and seat.
Seat: This extremely comfortable 17.5" seat feels true with a nice soft cushion. A nice sized flat spot in the seat and a standard twist. It measures 17.5" the traditional way from the center of the pommel headnail diagonally to the back and center of the cantle.
Flaps: Devoucoux's 3N flaps.
Leather: Extremely velvety soft leather. Very sumptuous.
Year of Manufacture: 2011
Panels: Soft, wool-flocked panels offer a nice and very roomy 5+ finger width gullet channel throughout. It is my understanding that the "LUZ" portion of the serial number denominates that it is built for a broad backed horse and that the panels are more flat to accommodate that anatomy.
Condition: Great. Exceptional quality for an eight year old saddle. Very well maintained. Could use a bit of an oil to bring out the luster but there are no scratches or any permanent damage to remark on. The billets show only extremely superficial wear. Absolutely lovely.
Cost New: Around $6500. With a wait and without the ability to try the exact saddle you are buying.
All Pre-Owned Saddles & Accessories come with a 5-day trial period by default.
